Event Details

OFL is launching a new online book club, bringing together readers interested in discovering and discussing diverse literature. New titles each month will feature authors writing from their personal experiences in a marginalized group and encourage readers to gain a better understanding of the world around them.

New members welcome each month.  No obligation - participants may join in or opt out of any club meeting and discussions.

Meeting Dates & Selections:
  • November 19 at 7pm - Another Brooklyn by Jacqueline Woodson
    A coming of age story of four best friends, telling the story of what it was like to grow up African-American in Brooklyn during the 1970s.

  • December 17 at 7pm - A Place for Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza
    A deeply moving and resonant story of love, identity and belonging. It tells the story of a Muslim Indian family
    struggling with societal expectations, cultural dynamics, and traditional aspects of Muslim life contrasting with
    mainstream American ways of life.
