Event Details

Dr. Leslie Kohman, the Upstate Cancer Center Director of Outreach, visits the library to provide new information and emerging discoveries about cancer- Review recent statistics and trends in the rates of cancers; discuss cancer screening methods as well as what new services can be offered to outpatients and their families; Learn about new cancer technologies, such as new radiation therapy techniques, new forms of cancer surgery and personalized medicine.

Dr. Leslie Kohman is a SUNY Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Surgery at Upstate Medical University.  She is the Upstate Cancer Center Director of Outreach.  As the physician Outreach Director of the Upstate Cancer Center, Dr. Kohman is responsible for community cancer screening and prevention programs. She joined the faculty at Upstate Medical University in 1985, as a Cardio-thoracic surgeon, specializing in general thoracic surgery, with a special interest in lung cancer.
