Event Details

Japan's attack on the naval air station at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 brought the United States dramatically and definitively into the Second World War. No longer could Americans maintain a guarded neutrality; a war which up until that point had remained on the edge of awareness suddenly and violently intruded upon their lives. And its effects would be felt in every state, every county, and every town across the nation, including right here in the Town of Onondaga. In this engaging talk, Andrew Miledonis of the Town of Onondaga Historical Society will recount the harrowing events of that day which lives in infamy. Then, we'll hear excerpts from the incredible eyewitness account of a local resident who was at Pearl Harbor during the attack. A brief Q&A will follow.
