Event Details

We spend most of our lives on the Internet: reading email, streaming music or movies, shopping, gaming, and even just hanging out. But what exactly is the Internet? And how does it work? OFL's Digital Services & Technology Librarian will answer those questions by taking you on a deep dive into the history of the Internet and the technologies that make it possible. You'll learn how the Internet came to be, what happens when you surf the web, and examine in detail how web browsers function, the differences between various browsers, and the basic tools they all contain. Strategies for staying safe while on the Internet will also be discussed. Patrons are strongly encouraged to bring their own devices.
